Magic of composing
- You ask me how I write songs? - I don't write them, they arrive themselves. From a feeling to a living entity, just like a child: from love to a living body. In most cases, a song is born not because of my objective to write it, but because I felt strongly about something (night walk along the river, biking with my children, scientific breakthrough, a romantic feeling about someone, a philosophical sentiment about life) and my thought is emotionally converted into words expressed in a musical way
... I lived in highly musical family. My parents: dad, a physics professor, mom, a computer engineer, and then brother, engineer and linguist, all played fabulously piano, and we always loved singing songs in harmonies, practically every day and every where. So it stayed with me
... To me a Song is a Feeling delivered through the Lyrics and the Melody, and the Melody should be Original
... But how many Original Melodies can humankind write, if the number of notes and chords is limited? So each original song is a pearl, and one may spend the entire life and never find it. Only inspired may, one day
... When an Original Song arrives, you know it right away. It flows naturally and it's easy to forget, because it is not similar to anything you've heard before, so you should record it right away

"You ask me how I write songs? - I don't write them, they arrive themselves: from a feeling to a living entity, just like a child: from love to a living body... They are by-product of my main life activities, if you wish: science, peace-seeking, raising children. Often I would express my feeling about something I've read, seen or experienced with words which are pronounced emotionally with what appears to be a melody... If there's no feeling or a feeling is not genuine or weak, so will be the song... A song to me is a tune sang with words, rather then poetry put on music. And there's a big difference the two. - A good song may be performed (whistled) even without the words and be liked and understood regardless of the language in which it was created. However, how many original tunes can be produced when the number of notes and chords is limited and some much musical work has been already produced? Creating an original song is like finding a pearl in a crowded city, or like making a scientific discovery, talking about which ... there's so much correlation between productivity in science and in music, and only being your best in the former may alllow you to show your results in the latter
